The Material Testing Unit (MTU) provides testing services in textile fibres, yarns and fabrics. The Technical Services Unit (TSU) has repair and fabrication workshops for electrical and electronics and mechanical engineering as well as glass blowing. The Information Services Unit (ISU) provides scientific and technological information to NISIR research Units and other R&D institutions in Zambia through a network of three Libraries that stock a selection of journals and books, a documentation section that collects, collates, stores and publishes various S&T literature and undertakes literature searches on Science and Technology Information (STI).
