The first confirmed record of the mango stone weevil Sternochetus mangiferae [F.] for Zambia is reported. The pest is known to be widespread in the tropics wherever the Mango, Mangifera indica L. is abundant, and know appears to be present throughout Zambia. A high proportion of mango seeds May become infested within the crop. Control measures seem impracticable, except in special circumstances.
