Seasonal variations in age-composition and survival of natural population of female Gossina Morsitans morsitans Westwood at the Chakwenga Game Reserve, Republic of Zambia, by S.N. Okiwelu, Zambia Journal of Science and Technology, Vol.1, no.2, April 1976, Pg. 48-58.

Age-composition and survival of females in a natural population of Glossina morsitans morsitans Westwood were determined by analyses of samples collected on man fly-rounds. Calculations were based on a logarithmic death rate. Significant differences existed between seasons [warm rainy, cool dry and hot dry]; mortality was greatest during the hot dry season and least in the warm rainy season. Maximum longevity was 160, 110 and 50 days for the warm rainy, cool dry and hot dry seasons respectively.
