Fungi associated with kernel infection of maize of 1981 crop from the Southern Province of Zambia, by R.G. Kapooria, J.N. Zulu and F. Matale, Zambia Journal of Science & Technology, Vol.6, no.1, March 1981, Pg. 28-33

Maize grown in the Southern Province of Zambia was obtained from the Choma Milling Company and analysed mycologically following visual inspection and blotter test method. The former showed lower kernel infection than the latter in which it ranged from 63-100%. Several fungi infected kernels singly or in association. Of all the fungal genera and species identified, Fusarium moniliforme and Cephalosporium showed highest prevalence. Mixed infections involving two or more fungal association were also quite common.
