Studies on the effect on female age on pupal weight and interval period in Glossina morsitans morsitans Westwood, by K.D.S. Kathuria, Zambia Journal of Science and Technology, Vol.3, no.1, January 1978, Pg. 21-23

Pupal weight and inter-larval period in relation to female age in Glossina morsitans morsitans, the dominant sub-species in the Republic of Zambia, were studied to determine the effect of female age on the weight of pupae produced. The mean weight of pupae produced was found to be related to the age of the parent flies. Comparatively heavy pupae were laid by females that were 45-145 days old.
