Spacing Studies in Pinus
Kesiya Royle ex Gordon in Zambia, by A.S. Hans, Zambia Journal of
Science and Technology, Vol.4, no.2, October 1979, Pg. 36-44.
The espacement trial 2p/7/6 of Pinus Kesiya Royle ex Gordon in Zambia at the age
of 7-8 years is analysed. The height and diameter growth increased as spacing
became wider whereas overall volume and weight of wood per hectare decreased
sharply. Basic wood density increased in wider spacings. Fibre length was
negatively correlated to diameter in narrower spacings but exhibited positive
correlation in wider spacings.
