The Reproductive tract of the small short-eared male goat indigenous to Zambia, by G. Igboeli, C.O. Oparaocha and J.V. Leigh, Zambia Journal of Science and Technology, Vol.1, no.4, October 1976, Pg. 131-135.

Dimensions of the reproductive and endocrine organs were corded in 10 mature male goats at slaughter; gonadal and extra-gonadal sperm reserves were determined and histological sections of the tests were measured for somniferous tubules diameters. Fructose concentrations in seminal vesicles were prominent, markedly lobulated and a combined average weight of 5.76 ± 0.52 g, and a fructose concentration of 540 mg/100 g. The prostate glands appear diffuse and disseminate while the cowpers were small. Average sperm reserves in one testis was 9.4 x 109, and total testicle sperm represented 91% of the total sperm reserve.
